- The second Empowerment Board Newsletter, which aims to keep everyone informed of the work the partnership boards have been doing with people with physical, sensory and cognitive impairments and HIV.

- The Surrey Coalition of Disabled People work together to promote equality of opportunity and independent living for disabled people in Surrey.
- February - March The Big Care Debate
- As part of the Big Care Debate on the reform of England’s care system, the Care and Support team is inviting everyone to share their Images of Care and Support. Send or upload images that you think reflect care and support in England today, illustrate the breadth of care issues, and show how they touch our lives. Full details are on the web site.
- 1st - 31st March deafPLUS Mobile Advisory Service
- deafPLUS provides a free and confidential service to all those who are deaf or hard of hearing, including equipment demonstration, information on lip reading classes, deaf clubs and much more. Latest venue list for Surrey and Hampshire (in PDF format).

- Face 2 Face - Parents Supporting Parents
- At Face 2 Face parents who have a child with a disability themselves have formed a network of friendship and support for other parents and carers. Meets every Friday during term time from 9.30am to 11.30am at the Reigate and Redhill YMCA, Redhill and Brooklands School, Reigate. - Orpheus Centre Learning Programme
- The Orpheus Centre helps young disabled people learn independence skills through the performing arts. The Centre’s Learning Programme brochure (in PDF format) gives lots of information on what is available.
- RendezVous ‘Bringing It Together’ Programme
- An opportunity for face-to-face meetings with a range of organisations at the White Lodge Centre in Chertsey.
- Courses and Workshops at Rendezvous
- A wide range of activities and opportunities for people with physical disabilities and for carers at Rendezvous, White Lodge Centre, Holloway Hill, Chertsey.
- These include IT, IT Workshops, Leisure and Life Skills, Health and Fitness, Complementary Therapies, Digital Photography and Creative Arts Workshops.

- Headway Surrey Drop Ins
- Headway Surrey has a new DROP IN for anyone affected by Head Injury every Wednesday from 11 am to 3pm at Rendezvous, White Lodge Centre, Holloway Hill, Chertsey, KT16 OAE
- Headway Surrey are also still running their DROP IN in Guildford every Friday from 10.30am to 3pm, at their temporary centre at 7 Faraday Road, off Woodbridge Road, Guildford GU1 1EA.

- Surrey@work
- Surrey@work, part of Surrey Supported Employment, is running training courses (in PDF format on employment and equality and diversity issues during Autumn and Winter 2009. Fill in an application form (in Word format) if you are interested.
- Level 2 Sports Leadership Qualification
- In partnership with Dering, YMCA Redhill is offering to anyone who classifies themselves in any way disabled (including deaf) free 5 day training courses to obtain a Level 2 Sports Leadership Qualification. The programme includes Certified First Aid and /or Level 1 or 2 in a chosen sport, plus support finding volunteer placements and work to put the new skills into practice after the course. Completion will result in recognized and respected qualifications that will enable participants to go on to take further training in order to develop a career in sport. - Yogability

- Surrey Health and Social Care Joint Training Partnership
- Provide a range of one day events which are organised for Carers, people who work within Social Care and Health Care and the voluntary sector. The events range from learning more about the Mental Capacity Act to learning about how the body uses water etc.
- Queen Elizabeth's Foundation Vocational Services
- Based in Leatherhead, Surrey, it provides training on sustainable employment for adults with disabilities, especially those who have been forced to change their career direction through accident or illness. The College offers a range of 12 courses in a range of business, trade and technical subjects, each focused on a job market and leading to a specific qualification.
- Surrey Welfare Rights Unit Training Programme
- A variety of benefits courses. Look at their web site for the latest courses.
- Events for Carers
- These are a selection of events that Action for Carers are providing to carers and people who work with carers within Surrey. There are many other events which take place in Surrey which carers can take part in.
- Expert Patients Programme
- If you live with a long-term illness, why not take control by becoming an Expert Patient? The Expert Patients Programme is a self-management course giving people the confidence, skills and knowledge to manage their condition better and be more in control of their lives. This is a national programme but there are some courses held in Surrey.
- Looking After Me
- This free 6 week course is run by the Surrey Primary Care Trust for adults who care for someone with a long term health condition or disability. As the name implies, the course is about carers making time to look after their own health needs. It aims to help carers take more control of their situation and make a difference to their lives. In particular the course looks at:
- Relaxation Techniques
- Dealing with Tiredness
- Healthy Eating
- Coping with feelings of depression
- Communication with family, friends and professionals
- Planning for the future.

- YNot? Drop-in (in PDF format)
- YNot? Drop-in is a service for Young People aged 16 to 25 who may be experiencing barriers to learning and are not in Education, Employment or Training. YNot? Drop-in provides a relaxed and informal atmosphere where Young People, Professionals, Parents, Carers and Personal Assistants are all welcome to attend. Held at the Woking YMCA between 12pm - 2pm every Monday.
