For people unable or unwilling to shop in person there are other ways to purchase goods.
Meals can be delivered to your home by the Meals on Wheels service. Referral is usually by a GP, social worker or nurse and is for people who are unable to cater for themselves. There is a charge per hot or frozen meal which must be paid in advance.
Groceries can ordered via the internet and delivered to you by Asda, Sainsbury’s, Tesco & Waitrose. Eismann, 0800 138 4627, deliver frozen food to the home.
Many disability equipment suppliers offer mail order services to their customers. Catalogues are available from Keep Able, Voluntary Association for Surrey Disabled & EPC - Equipment for the Physically Challenged.
Clothing and footwear mail order suppliers include Charles Fellowes, Chums, Easicare Clothing, 01483 763237, & the Special Collection, 0161 236 5511.
Products for people with allergies, asthma & hayfever are available from Healthy House.
Connevans supply equipment for hearing impaired people & the Partially Sighted Society, 01302 323132, have a catalogue of low vision aids.
