How to get a Radar key

National key scheme guide book.

A Radar key enables access to accessible toilets around the country for people with disabilities. The key can be purchased by anybody with a disability. (No proof of disability required).

You can buy a key from your local council, helpshop or RADAR. The key costs £3.50 which is refundable upon return of key and production of receipt.

The National Key Scheme (NKS) offers independent access to disabled people to around 7,000 locked public toilets around the country. Disabled purchasers are exempt from paying VAT if they complete a declaration form. To check if you are eligible to receive goods or services that are zero-rated for VAT contact the VAT Advice Service, 0845 010 9000, before ordering a key.

The toilets are the property of the providers concerned, so any queries or problems concerning a toilet should be directed to the provider.
